The boys' sophomore basketball team defeated Dubuque Wahlert last night 58-31 to finish the season 18-1.  Cody Bell led all scorers with 16 points with the final basket of the season made by Austin Rhoads.  Congratulations to the sophomores for a super season earning them the title of Mississippi Valley - Valley Division Conference Champions.

The sophomore boys' basketball team continues their dominance with a 67-40 win over Linn Mar to improve their record to 17-1.  The entire team contributed to the win forcing many turnovers.  The Cougars scoring efforts were led by Cody Bell with 17 points and Tony Bolden with 9.

The Sophomore Boys basketball team defeated Washington Thursday night to improve their record to 16-1 with a 68 - 30 win over the Warriors.  The scoring drive was led by Elliott Christians with 14 points and Cody Bell with 11 points, with Jimmy Lizarraga and Trevor Heitland following closely with 9 points each.

The Sophomore Boys improved their record to 15-1 with two well fought battles this past weekend.  The Cougars defeated Xavier on Friday night led by Cody Bell with 16 points and won 44-41 with a buzzer bea
ter 3 pointer by Mitch Wagner.

The boys then traveled to West Delaware on Saturday for another tough game.  The Cougars scoring drive was led by Trevor Heitland
and Alex Hayden with 16 and 11 points, respectively.  The Cougars came up on top with another win 45 - 35.

The Sophomore Boys fought a tough battle against Cedar Falls last night at home, but came up one point short in their loss 38 - 39.  The Cougars scoring efforts were led by Cody Bell with 11 points and Elliott Christians with 10 points.

The Sophomore Boys gave a complete team effort last night to defeat Jefferson 48-35 at home to remain undefeated in the Sophomore League.  The Cougar's scoring efforts were led by Trevor Heitland with 12 points and Josh Jahlas with 10 points.

The Sophomore Boys team added another win last night as they defeated Waterloo
East at Kenney 61-43.  The Cougars were led  by Josiah Coleman and Elliott Christians who each had 13 points followed closely by Cody Bell with 12 points.
 
Varsity

RESULTS

2/22 - The Kennedy Boys Basketball team advanced to the substate semifinals with a 66-41 win over Burlington Monday night in the Cougar gym.  Spencer Fontana hit three 3's and Jake Manning and Kyle Lamaak added 16 and 12 points each for the Cougars.  Kenendy improved to 14-7 and will face CR Washington on Friday, Feb 26th at 7 pm in the Warrior gym in a semifinal contest.

2/18 - Congratulations to the Varsity Boys basketball team on a huge win last night over Dubuque Wahlert 64-57. With the win, the Cougars claimed their 4th consecutive MVC Division Championship. Kennedy is only the 3rd school in the history of the MVC to win four consecutive championships.

In the win last night the Cougars were led in scoring by Christian French with 20 points and Kyle Lamaak with 19. In the rebounding department, French had 9 boards and Lamaak had 6. Austin Christensen and Spencer Fontana hit 3 point goals in a 21 point second quarter. Jake Misener had 6 assists for the Cougars. Max Martino had a fine all around floor game and big contributions off the bench were made by Darius Fuller, Jake Manning , Herschel Dixon and Griffin Michael.

The Cougars open post season play at home Monday night against Burlington. Game time is at 7 pm.



2/12 - The varsity Boys' basketball team lost to Washington Friday night 49-48 at the buzzer. The Cougars were led in scoring by Kyle Lamak with 17 points. In the rebounding department Christian French and Lamaak both had 7 boards. Rebounders of the week were Lamaak and French. Defensive players of the week were Spencer Fontana and Christian French. The Cougars are in action again tomorrow night as they play at Linn Mar. Game time is 6:00 for the sophs and 7:30 for the varsity.

2/5 & 2/6 Congratulations to the Varsity Boys' Basketball team on their two victories this past weekend. On Friday night the Cougars beat Xavier 81-55. The Cougars were led by Christian French with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Spencer Fontana added 12 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists. Jake Manning and Austin Christensen had 10 points each. Jake Misener had 6 assists.

On Saturday night, the guys beat West Delaware 65-37.The Cougars were led by Kyle Lamaak with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Max martino added 8 points , Jake Manning 7 and Austin Christensen and Jake Misener had 6.

Rebounders of the week were Kyle Lamaak , Christian French and Spencer Fontana. Defensive players of the week were Max Martino, Herschel Dixon and Brenden Drahn.

The guys are in action tomorrow night as they travel to Waterloo West.

2/2 - Congratulations to the varsity boys' basketball team on their 49-46 win over # 9 ranked Cedar Falls last night. The Cougars were led in scoring by Max Martino with 10 points. Kyle Famaak had 6 rebounds and Spencer Fontana and Jake Manning had 5 rebounds each. The Cougars got great bench play from a number of players.

The Cougars are in action again on Friday night as they travel to Xavier in the battle of 42nd street.


1/29 - Jake Misener and Kyle Lamaak each scored 5 points, Christian French added 4 and Austin Christensen 3 as the Cougars fell to 4th ranked Jefferson 27-25 in the low scoring contest.  Lamaak also grabbed 8 rebounds in the contest as the Cougars dropped to 9-5 overall,  and 7-3 in the MVC.  The boys are in action again on Tuesday, Feb 2nd at home against Cedar Falls.
 

1/26 - Kyle Lamaak score 17 points and Christian French added 10 as the Cougars defeated Waterloo East Tuesday night, 58-43.  Max Matino and Jake Manning both scored 7 points as the Cougars upped their record to 9-4 and 7-2 in the MVC.
The Cougars travel to cross-town rival Jefferson on Friday for the  Coach vs. Cancer PURPLE OUT.  The boys game follows the girls in the varsity basketball doubleheader.
